Woah, there goes Christmas. I hope everyone had a nice one - I did! Got a fair few books and chocolates - lovely! - candles, calculators and decorations. Gifted myself with an upgrade for my iPod, too. ;)

The books were:
Nation - Terry Pratchett
Learning Python
Learning PHP & MySQL
The Book of General Ignorance

Twitter's overcoming my LJ, it seems, by the way. I may need a kick in the arse to get me going, by the looks of it.

Just having a nice relax now though.

There was a French market out in town today. Very hectic, especially with the Woolworths sale (which I could not help but go to). Almost got trampled (several times), and felt like I was the only one apologising for the bumps, which annoyed me slightly (but I understood, as I'll find it impossible to apologise for a week because of this! The word's lost all meaning).

I tried (and bought) quite a few new things at the market afterwards. Brought home Mexican Cashews (spicy!), matured goat's cheese in wood ash (surprisingly nice), baklava + similar (which I've had before), and caramelised almonds (not a good idea to have a lot at once). I also tried pheasant, boar, ostrich, rhubarb jam, rascherries (yeah, you read that right) and I would've tried snails, if they had testers (I am unwilling to spend money on something that I may not like). I also had a proper French crêpe (lemon and sugar), folded properly by a Frenchman and everything ;P. I enjoyed all of them to varying degrees. Of course, there were a few others which I wasn't too keen on (mostly nuts) and thus promptly forgot.

Christmas tree also went up today; first plastic one for years. Very bright bulbs, but that's good. It certainly doesn't look too shabby - may look even better with a little tinsel to cover up any trouble areas.

♥♥
